Cape Verdean food in downtown Boston or Dedham?

I'll be staying in Dedham for a conference, and would like to know if there are any Cape Verdean restaurants in that area of downtown Boston.

I found a couple of restaurants in the Dorchester area, is that far from where I'm staying?

Dorchester's not so far from Dedham, assuming you have a car.

Some Cape Verdean places in Dot:
    Cecesaria: http://www.restaurantecesaria.com/
    Laura's
    Ka Carlos

I can't help you with Dedham.

by car, you're looking at about 15-20 minutes from Dedham to Dorchester depending on traffic.

My favorite is Cesaria on Bowdoin Street in Dorchester. Great traditional dishes: katchupada and feijoada. Also the octopus (Polvo Grelhado) is very tasty.

I believe the three places already mentioned (Ka Carlos, Laura's, Cesaria) are the only Cape Verdean restaurants in Greater Boston. There's also a bar/nightclub kind of place called Gigi's Palace on Bowdoin Street in Dorchester, but it has been a troubled spot recently (gun violence).

Ohmygod, do NOT go to Gigi's Palace. They don't have Cape Verdean food as far as I know and unless you want to get shot I wouldn't recommend going there. I haven't seen them open for a few weeks now, and I know the owner was fearing for his life. Fingers crossed they're closed for good and taking their liquor license with them. It wasn't their fault, they were just the only place open on that street after 11pm.
