Not the best news (Bacco is pretty average at best). Would have preferred something innovative.

BTW, I think it took Trani longer to finish construction before it opened (what was it, 3 years?) than they actually stayed open.

Unintentionally hilarious name, admittedly original concept, bad treats. I was put off by the fact that they didn't even use their patented "injector" on half the stuff: just cut things in half and squirted softserve on top. Not even endless shilling by The Phantom Gourmet could save that ridiculous place.

I read a few months back that Trani had gotten contracts with Fenway, 7-eleven and a few other big corporations for their patented machine. Maybe they are putting all their eggs in that basket... I hope Bacco doesn't put up another enormous neon sign.

Even if Trani's stuff was better (by a lot), that location is terrible for a store which needs lots of tourist traffic. I asked them a few times where their business came from and they said a significant portion was PG derived. Forget the exact number. (I know MC hates those guys but they drive traffic to a lot of places, some very good and deserving.) Problem: PG is large local, meaning their traffic was people coming in from the South Shore every now and then. That location can't draw much out-of-town traffic and that product (and the chain-like interior) wouldn't attract North Enders or true Bostonians. If a location can be 100%, that is about a 30% spot for most businesses.
