Where to get a bite near BMC?

I'm looking for an inexpensive place to grab some quick dinner close to Boston Medical Center and the Med Campus. I know that Flour and the 10 spot are a few streets over, but I'm looking for a few different options. Any suggestions would be great!

  1. Morse Fish Company on Washington isn't out of reach from there, and it's certainly a different option. They will fry or broil pretty much any of the fish they sell for you on the spot and server with fries or a potato.

South End Formaggio is a bit of a hike, but if you're looking for cheap, they have some good dinner deals and their sandwiches are very inexpensive.

Equator is a thai place on Washington near Mass Ave. Decent prices and ok thai food.

    1. How about Orinoco? They are inexpensive and service is really friendly. Plus the interior is fun- it's casual and comfortable. And the food is great too!

House of Siam is on Columbus is a little further up, but if you're willing to walk a bit my friends in the SE swear by it. I've had some good take-out from there but I've never actually eaten there.

Toro is great, but it is NOT inexpensive. Quite the opposite...

        2. Victoria's Diner on Mass Ave near Newmarket Square, a decent diner with a huge menu (and free parking). Columbus Cafe for modestly-priced (by neighborhood standards) American food. House of Siam for decent Thai food (best option close by). Don Ricardo's for Peruvian, Brazilian, and Mexican food at nice prices (free parking out back -- get the notice from the restaurant to put in your windshield). Miami Cafe for good Dominican sandwiches and entrees (counter service). Morse Fish for excellent fried and broiled seafood. Mela for decent, slightly pricey Indian. J.J. Foley's Cafe for very good, reasonably priced pub and Irish food. Pizza options, in my order of preference: Picco, The Dish, Mangia Mangia, South End Pizza. Anchovies for basic but good Italian-American in a dive bar setting. Cafe Polonia in Andrew Square for Polish food. 224 Boston for decent, nice-priced comfort food. Pepper Pot (Dudley Square) for Jamaican. Olive Garden and Applebee's at South Ba-- nah, just kidding.

A couple on my to-try list nearby: Merengue (Dominican), Venetian Garden (presumably Italian, but I'm not sure).
