wedding cheeca lodge, islamorada
considering cheeca lodge for a small family wedding of 13 (3 of them kids)
how is the food? any suggestions or recs? also nearby places, as it will be a 3 or 4 day affair.
Stayed at the Cheeca Lodge a few years ago. We did not have dinner at the main restaurant. We did eat at the Curt Gowdy Lounge one night and the food was terrible. Lunch by the pool was ok. Had better food when we left the grounds.
The concierge was very helpful with providing info on where to go in the area.
Had a nice dinner Morada Bay Cafe. http://www.moradabay-restaurant.com/
The reason we choose the Cheeca was because it was advertised as a small luxury hotel, but this is no longer true.
We took a bike ride in the area and discovered The Moorings Village (next to the Cheeca), which is very charming and private. http://www.mooringsvillage.com/
