Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory? Just a few flavors, a little pricey, but great location.

We love L & B for the pizza and atmosphere, and we often get ice cream, but I wouldn't say it's worth a trip for the ice cream per se. We are not fans of the spumoni, though I do think some of the ices are neat.

I don't think the ice cream @ Bklyn IC Factory is so special. But I agree that the location makes it worth a detour.

the new blue marble on Atlantic has a flavor called "cultured" that is among the best I've ever tasted in my life. My husband thinks the texture is too icey, but I haven't noticed that and I've had it about 4 times.

I just went to Blue Marble yesterday with my mom and we LOVED their ice cream, which is saying a lot because we're not big fans of ice cream. We got the Pistachio Almond and Black Raspberry, and both were wonderful. (They also have great coffee and they're very eco-friendly, to boot.)

I second the motion for Brooklyn Ice Cream factory.

Also, the gelato at Tempo Presto used to be good, although I haven't had it in a while. (Now TP is at Fifth Avenue only.)

Villabate, creamy deliciousness:) they have a light chocolate hazelnut which is soooo good. I used that and bought some pistashio(sp?) to make profiteroles with recently, everyone loved them. Definately Villabate!

Brooklyn ice cream factory is very good. Not very sweet. I had good ice ream at the chocolate room.

Fortunato Brothers for pistachio gelato! Can't say about the other flavors. The pistachio tastes intensely like...you guessed it, pistachios. Not too sweet, not too rich, but wonderfully smooth. And an old school, table service italian cafe experience.
