Just reading through some health food store brochures a coworker gave me and I found this beverage fascinating. It supposedly balances your calcium intake and restores healthy magnesium levels. Hope I put this in the right forum. Thanks, Rich

IMO :
If you eat healthy, you don't need that junk; keep your money to buy real food.

Relax, have comfortable clothes, soothing atmosphere, maybe some music, good company.
Then take the NC.
Or a good vermouth with olives.

I like the Natural Calm, it's just naturally flavored magnesium citrate. Your body needs magnesium to process calcium properly. In fact, magnesium if important to a lot of bodily functions. Sure eating healthy is important, doesn't that go without saying? A lot of people take a daily vitamin, this is like that. My mom has suffered from migraines her whole life but she has found if she takes magnesium every day then they go away for the most part. She's the one who turned me onto the Natural Calm.

I like the lemon raspberry flavored one the best, you make it like tea. I feel nice and relaxed after drinking it, usually before bed. It doesn't contain anything artificial, anything that may trigger a food allergy, and uses stevia as a sweetener. A nice side effect of taking the magnesium is it keeps you nice and regular.

Can anyone comment on how the balancing of calcium/magnesium affects mental state? Does it have to do with blood pressure? Thanks.

I'm not a doctor but I can say from taking magnesium on a regular basis that is is more muscular. Magnesium is a natural muscle relaxer whereas calcium is a natural muscle contractor. If you don't have calcium balance then the calcium makes the vascular muscles contract leading to higher blood pressure.

Maybe someone with more education can comment.
