Out-of-towner dining alone in city. need recs

I will be in town in mid-February and will be dining alone for 3 nights. I need recommendations for restaurants in the city- casual restaurants with great food. I will eat pretty much anything but sushi.

  1. If you are in the mood for fish/seafood, I would highly recommend Tadich Grill, in the 200 block of California Street. Tadich's is a landmark and is one of the oldest restaurants in SF. They have a long counter with stools which is a nice place to eat if you are dining alone. Stick with whatever fresh fish they offer and have it grilled. They also serve an excellent cioppino.

      1. SPQR is a good choice for the solo diner. Their frequently changing menu has plenty to appeal to a wide range of tastes/moods.

          1. Hey! When wil you be there? I'm going to SF later this month for business and it will be my first time and I will be alone as my husband can't take the time off from work.
I've been scouring these boards for recs all week!
