The hamburgers were soggy, the roll was soggy, the French Fries were soggy, won't go back.

  1. it's the well meaning but totally confused staff that keep me away from the place. i agree that the burgers aren't really that fantastic and the fries are ho-hum. mostly, they seem to be selling the idea of huge quantities. ( one order of fries is enough for almost three people and the double burger is an obscene amount of food.) and it's just not that tasty. better than other fast food places and seemingly modeled on the in-and-out burgers of california. but not really worth a return visit (eventhough i tried it three times before giving up.)

I didn't think much of the place either based on two visits.I tried it based on its reputation and proximity to a highway exit I regularly pass. The best burger in that area is Joe's on Main street by Roosevelt.

I've been there twice & agree about the large quantity. The fries seem like they'd be good if eaten quickly, but I took them out & they were soggy both times. I thought the burgers were better than any fast food burger, and reminded me of Roy Rogers burgers from years ago. I'd say better than other fast food but not as good as pretty much any diner/pub burger.

I actually like the Five Guys burger. I personally think it's better than Joe's and the best fastfood burger in NYC. The burgers are made to order and the fries were crisp and freshly fried (and any fried food left standing until it cools will get soggy). As for diner/pub burgers, they're in a whole different category of burger and a comparison is like comparing Chevy vs. Cadillac.
