I recently had a passable Oyster Poboy @ Evangaline Cafe on Brody. Sad boudin. Had great fried oysters at Pacific Star (waaaay up 183 X Anderson Mill) the other day. Sad Gumbo (I don't care what anybody sez). Boudin ? Check out the wwwebsite "Boudin Link". It's crazy. Many of the "linked' shops do ship.

For an oyster po boy, I'd try Gene's or Nubian Queen Lola's.

I heard good things from Gumbos in RR and down town, it might be higher end than you are looking for. Papa Deaux is always solid and I like there soft shelled crab Po Boys and don't forget the $2.99 lb crawfish from 3-6pm happy hour, running large now as we're fixinta go into season.

Sambet's has good boudin because they bring it in from somewhere - all of the food that they actually cook is sub-par to me.

Gumbos is a bit pricey, but I've actually loved their crawfish gumbo in the past. Most of their dishes are too heavily sauced.

I've been disappointed with Quality Seafood, no matter how much I wanted to like it.

I've had great gumbo and key lime pie at Louisiana Longhorn in RR.

Really, if you want boudin, have someone ship it or mail order. No one is making in town that I know of, except for Central Market, and they don't even use pork liver!

Thanks for the tip on the crawfish, Sofa King. I haven't seen $2.99 /lb crawfish since Razoo's had them.

Yes, thanks Sofa King and forgive me for the chowdah(don't forget the "h") post, it is all in jest. I will not be the designated driver home from Papa Deaux's!(Where is it?)

It's around 290E & 35. The blackened oyster and crawfish fondeau served with french bread is there best app.

Very close to our daughter's, we'll take a cab home as I understand that walking is lethal in Austin.
