Looking for a new tossed green salad

Hi all!

I'm looking for some new ideas for (a) tossed green salad (s).

I've been mixing greens with gorgonzola crumbles, dried cranberries, sliced almonds .....

Also been making Giada's Tuscan salad:
8 ounces green beans, cut into 1 to 2-inch pieces (about 2 cups)
1 head Romaine lettuce, torn
1 (15-ounce) can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup pitted black olives
1/2 red onion, cut into slivers
1 lemon, juiced
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 ounce shaved Parmesan (about 1/2 cup)

Any new ideas you all can share? Thanks so much!

  1. That Tuscan salad sounds good!

With so many great oranges in season this might be a good one for you to try. Fresh fennel, oranges, good green olives, some salt, pepper and olive oil. Really delicious.

Also, endive or any bitter greens with grapefruit & orange supremes and a sweet, oniony poppy seed dressing.

I'm loving the citrus these days.

    1. re: fern

I've been eating a variant of Fern's suggestion, arugula, shaved fennel, orange supremes, fresh ricotta or ricotta salata, and poppy seed dressing.

I've also been making an "egg salad" with radishes, cukes, chopped hardboiled eggs, and a mustard vinaigrette.

    2. Try sliced endive and chunked avocado with a mustard vinaigrette. I also like mixed greens with plenty of shaved parmesan, toasted pine nuts, dressed with balsamic and olive oil.
