After searching the boards I still need advice. Can you cook plain white rice in a slow cooker?. Must I purchase a rice cooker.? Wish I could mutli-task.

  1. I've been wondering the same thing lately. Why not give it a try. Rice is cheap.

    1. I've been thinking about this as well since I have 2 new crock pots so I Googled and found many recipes from pilafs to other grains. Here are the usual proportions which seem reasonable. The thing is, I think you'd need a small CP...the smallest I have is a 4 qt.
1 cup regular raw, white rice
      1 cup water
      2 teaspoons salt
      1 tablespoon butter
Place all ingredients together in crock pot.
Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours.
