Breakfast at Oliveto

I just heard that Oliveto is serving breakfast 7 days a week in the cafe downstairs. Any reports so far?

  1. One of my friends has gone a few times and thought it was really good. He raved about the egg and pancetta pizza.

    1. A wonderful start to the day, perfect stop on the way to Rockridge BART. The polenta, egg dishes are very good--same attention to quality of ingredients and careful execution as their lunch and evening menu. Great morning pastries--danish, muffins, scones (flavors of all of the preceding change daily), morning buns and cornetti (Italian croissant with apricot filling)--with tiny ramekins of butter and preserves, good but not great coffee, the warm ambience of the downstairs cafe and straight-ahead jazz at soft volume in the background.

      1. This isn't anything new, the downstairs cafe has been serving breakfast for years. I'm a huge fan of the egg and pancetta pizza, but the pastries are good too.

        1. The egg and pancetta pizza is amazing. The perfect combo of salty, chewy, and yolky (if that's a word.) Also, one of the better cappuccino's I have had. Great way to start a sunday morning.

          Run, don't walk.
