Food Festival hopping weekend

Saturday and sunday was spent in food festivals at opposite sides of town. On Saturday, I was at the Bella Via Italian street painting festival in Santa Clarita. Artists were commissioned to create chalk reproductions of classical paintings on a blocked off street. Local eateries opened up booths to display their wares during the evening. Some chains like TGI Friday's and BJ's Pizza had booths also.
Despite the foods to try we actually decided to leave the festival to go for fish and chips in Ventura, and perhaps come back for dessert. So we made the trek to Andria's, a marina-side fish fry and seafood market. The line to order went out the door. I got the cod fish and chip (you can get the halibut version also), and a generous cup of clam chowder. The fries was somewhat soggy and some had that nasty peanut flavor, but the generous batches of fish was crisp and tasty. I think the tartar sauce was made on site. The cup of chowder (which would of been bowl size anywhere else) was very very thick, and dotted with flecks of carrots, but maybe lacking in clams.
We went back to the festival in time to grab desserts which was either a choice of crepes from Wild Thyme or "chocolate sushi" from Vines restaurant. We decided to get "sushi", which was a core of chocolate surrounded by coconut shaving, and a crust of nuts. It came with a caramel dipping sauce and sold in little Chinese take-out boxes. I had some food tickets left so I got bacon wrapped shrimp from Salt Creek Grill's stand, which isn't too good when it's cold.
Sunday, was the annual Lobster Fest (how many of you think they should have local spiny lobsters?) With a coupon, you can get in for $5, and the lobster meal was $11. You get a small perhaps 1-2 lb lobster, a bun, packaged coleslaw, and butter meant for popcorn (that palm oil stuff). In addition to that there were other booths catering to non seafood eaters, and people who wasn't full (like me). So I split a healthy plate of rib tips and funnel cakes, had two large glasses of lemonade, and a can of Sunkist. Obviously I needed a port-a-potty badly after that...
