Amy's Bread yellow cake alert: yum!

I live near Amy's Bread, and generally have an ambivalent relationship with their cakes--too often the cake is too dry, or the frosting's too something, etc., etc. So I was utterly surprised by the slice of yellow cake + pink icing I had today. Maybe it's because it was the first slice from the cake, therefore more fresh. Maybe it was the moist air of the rain. Maybe it was an act of God. But it's the best damned slice of cake I've had from Amy's--moist, homey, wonderful--and one of the best I've had in recent memory. I recommend that anyone who can goes and gets some, before the cake disappears.

The day is suddenly less gloomy...

When I lived near-by, I could never resist this cake in cupcake form.... really fantastic.

That is probably my favorite cake in the city. Yum.
