Scottsdale this weekend (what a clusterf**k)

Please help! I am going to Scottsdale this weekend and I'm looking for an upscale lounge tonight (Friday) that won't be infested with the likes of P Diddy or Kid Rock. I'm thinking Old Town is out because it is pretty much ground zero for all the Super Bowl nonsense.

  1. You're thinking right. If you want to head to North Scottsdale, you might find things a little easier to navigate. Capital Grill on Scottsdale Rd and Frank Lloyd Wright has a very nice bar. Just south of it on Scottsdale Rd is Barcelona.
If you want to head even farther north, DC Ranch has a few other options, like Armitage or Blue Wasabi.
    Good luck.

I am staying home this weekend with a bottle of Black Bush. If I hate Spring Training, I can only imagine how bad Super Bowl/FBR weekend.

    2. N. Scottsdale is actually just as bad since the team is staying at kierland.... I'd head into Phoenix.

      1. If you're still looking, benster, try Terroir Wine Pub on Indian Bend and Scottsdale Road (near Ruth's Chris and Roy's). Very grownup but not stale. Laid-back; friendly. Excellent wine selection. They don't have a kitchen, but serve good nosh plates (pate, cheese, nuts, etc.) and you can order pizza and salads from a neighborhing restaurant.

        1. I can't get the link to work but it's at 7001 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale.
