late night dining -- with a good bar scene?

i have theatre tickets tonight, and i was hoping to grab a late night dinner with friends.

nothing too fancy... maybe small plates type of place?

we'd like to combine our boozing with our munching.... suggestions?

no asian please. no offense.

Centro vinoteca hit the spot for me because I was looking for small plates and nice wine and I found both! I had the sweetbreads and they were excellent.

downing street bar - across from mas from the blue ribbon people. it's small, but very fun with interesting wines and great small plates.

Boqueria on east 19th between 5th & 6th is good spanish tapas and great drinks. It might be a little out of the way but Stanton Social on the LES is a great scene and also good food. Lastly, Pipa, on 18th Street serves up good tapas and great sangria.
