Parve pastachio pudding mix?

Has anyone ever seen kosher parve pastachio pudding mix (in powder form)? I have a cake recipe calling for it and couldn't find it in the grocery store...is this something that the kosher food stores carry?

Don't know if you're still looking for this, but I saw Royal Pistachio pudding mix labeled OU-pareve in a Stop & Shop supermarket in Queens NY earlier today.

Thanks...that's not in my area but maybe I'll make a field trip out to Queens! I checked the (new) Supersol on the UWS and didn't find any parve pistachio pudding

I saw this recently in the regular baking section of the Shoprite on Avenue I (brooklyn) and thought of this thread.

Parave pistachio pudding would be great, but unfortunately i have never seen it, at least in the U.S. ...In reading some of the responses, i notice many people mentioning sugar free, but i had not seen that in your request, so i didnt try to track down that faction of it., just the parve that you mentioned. Wishing you luck in your search.

I'm not sure where you are in the US, but Jello and Royal brand puddings are very readily available in the NY area. I think most of the Jello brand stuff I have seen has been milchig, but I'm pretty sure I've seen parve pistachio powdered pudding (how's that for alliteration).

I was just at Shoprite and I saw 2 brands. One was by Jello under the O-K. The other was by Royal and was under the O-U. They were not sugar free.

I did a search there is a brand called Royal that has a sugar free pistachio pudding mix.

Thanks cherylp3...I also found that info but I'm looking for a non-sugar free product since it's for a cake.

Maybe you should get plain pareve pudding mix and grind pistachios into a powder?

Ironically, ground pistachios will not give the same flavor as the pistachio pudding flavor. In fact, pistachio-flavored things are often flavored with almonds and almond flavoring. I have a container of pistachio ice cream in the freezer right now that has almonds in it rather than pieces of pistachios.

So grind some almonds too, or just use almond paste. :-)
