    In no particular order:

Costco apple pies are large and gorgeous - haven't tasted 'em.

I'd be shocked if Pastries by Randolph didn't have something wonderful, or also Heidelburg Bakery.

I should mention that Mom's are the standard size pies. The Costo pie has the wow factor because of its size and is actually not bad.

Try Mom's Apple Pie. My mother in law goes to the one in Occoquan whenever she's having people over, but there are several locations in the area: http://www.momsapplepieco.com/
Our family's favorites are the butter pecan apple crumb, strawberry rhubarb, and chocolate pecan.

I second that. Mom's is the best around.

Dixie Bones in Woodbridge lists a fried apple pie and I understand their pies are very good. http://www.dixiebones.com/content/restaurant-and-carry-out-menu.html

Try the Pie Gourmet in Vienna. It has fabulous pies, including the apple. But they aren't cheap. This is the website
