Is there such a thing?
My nomination goes to Los dos Molinos
is this the place in gramercy? if so i think this place is highly over rated and not very good. sorry leahbaila but i know many who agree with me.
No worries, Fein...this is an opinion board. I love the place...some agree, some don't.
I'm with you on this one, I like Los dos Molinos. It reminds me of places I ate at years ago in Flagstaff. Sure it is to expensive, but the food is good.
Ah! Chihuaha on 53rd between 22nd and first does a pretty good facsimilie thereof...
Zarela's on 2nd avenue between 50th & 51st is very good. I recomment this place.
I like Zarela's as much as the next person, but it is decidedly NOT tex-mex.
Geronimo on the UES has great chile con queso and chicken burritos -- a classic tex-mex menu. It's new ... corner of Third & 90th, I believe.
Zocala is great, the one I went to was in Grand Central Station. Not romantic at all.
If you're in a really low-budget mood, the "Super Taco" truck at 96th and Broadway is very good...grew up in Texas and after 7 years in NY nobody can get it quite right!
I like Baby Bo's on 2nd ave/34th st. It's good, fun, cozy and pretty delicious. amy @ http://www.neverfull.wordpress.com
Maya on First Ave and 63rd more Mexico City mexican.
Second Ah Chiuahua... The only place in NY to get authentic chicken enchilada suizas and homemade refried beans. I suspect they're made the traditional way (i.e. with lard), but they taste so good I don't care.
What about Santa Fe on the UES? Is it any good at all?
