Near Westin Chicago

  • 2

Can anyone suggest a great local restaurant near the Westin. In town on business, but doing b-dinners on nights two and three, so want some good local atmosphere and food and not touristy. Any type of food would be okay, except steakhouse! Thxs.

  1. Are you asking for recommendations near the Westin Chicago River North (at 320 N Dearborn), or near the Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago (at 909 N Michigan Ave)?

I'll recommend a variety of restaurants. One type I'll include is our delicious Chicago deep-dish pizza, a local specialty; there are two main varieties, a double-crust "stuffed" pizza and a single-crust "pan" pizza. Both are excellent. Wherever you go, you may want to check the menu on their website and phone ahead with your order, to avoid waiting 30-45 minutes while seated for your pizza to bake.

    1. Le Colonial is definitely good, and the Mexx Kitchen in the Sutton Place Hotel might a good pick as well (upscale Mexican fare).
