Does anyone know where I can drink cask ale in DC? Preferably from a wooden cask, but am especially looking for English ales.

Cheers!

There are several places that serve cask ale in the DC area, although none of them serve it from a wooden cask (at least on a regular basis): the Brickskeller and RFD (www.lovethebeer.com), Birreria Paradiso (http://www.eatyourpizza.com/about_birreria_paradiso.php), which is in the Georgetown location of Pizzeria Paradiso, the Cap City brewpubs (http://www.capcitybrew.com), Rock Bottom brewpub in Ballston and Rustico in Alexandria (http://www.rusticorestaurant.com/).

Many of the beers you will in the casks are American-brewed, English-style ales, although you will occasionally see other types of beer as well. They usually change what's in the casks frequently, however, given the short shelf life of cask ales.
