Wine/Small Plates for group near Met??

harrison Jan 29, 2008 06:07 PM

I seem to be put in charge of these things. We're doing an organized scavenger hunt late afternoon/early evening at the Met for a friend's 40th. She does not want a sit down dinner, but more of a place to drink some wine and nibble if you want. There will be 12-15 of us.

Any ideas?

Or do you mean the Metropolitan opera?
If so, think about the bar at Bar Boulud which is very close by.
Shun Lee West has a bar area that has a little room right opposite it where just about 15 people would fit fine. They have appetizers a-plenty.

I recommend Beyoglu for delicious Turkish/Mediterranean food and wine. I believe it's located on 81st and 3rd.

This may work - I've heard good things but never been. Can we fit?

I'm sure. The space is large and I've seen lots of groups. Probably best to inquire.

Do you mean the Metropolitan Museum of Art?

If so, Pudding Stones is a good choice, on 3rd Avenue between 82nd & 83rd.

(The main entrance of the Metropolitan is at 82nd Street.)
