I'm looking for a nice place to have a quiet dinner with my husband for our anniversary. Budget is $150. Something east of I-95, from West Palm Beach to Hollywood. Any ideas?

We had a fabulous anniversary dinner on Jan. 8th at Valentino's in Ft. Lauderdale. Check out my post a day or two later. We had a fairly expensive bottle of wine, so with tip it probably came out a little more than $150, but it was worth evey penny!

great suggestions john, sunfish offers great high quality fish and some amazingly great steaks and chops for a fish place.

My wife and I really enjoy Sapporisimo on Palmetto Park Road in Boca. It's the real deal for Tuscan-style Italian. It's pricey but the food is exceptional and the owners (Giancarlo and Ana Maria) are really good people. This is our go-to place for birthdays, anniversaries, or anytime feel like splurging on dinner.

This is probably our favorite restaurant in South Florida. We've tried the elk, boar, venison, and rabbit along with the raviolis and other pastas and everything is just outstanding. If you like tripe this one melts in your mouth and the oxtail is sublime.

It's funny, but a couple of years ago, after just returning from a trip to Italy, we tried Sapporisimo and were very disappointed. Maybe you should wait a certain period of time before eating Italian food after returning from Italy. Anyway, we had heard really good things about it. I don't think I'd go out of my way to make the trip again (to Sapporisimo), but if we're every nearby, I will try it again.

For special occasions, I love to try new places on Las Olas...the 2 I would go back to in a heartbeat, for a romantic dinner, are The Grill Room on Las Olas in the Riverside Hotel, and Rino's Tuscan Grill.

At Rino's, be sure to ask for a table on the patio by the river. You'd never know you were on a main street, it's lovely. You can take a gondola ride on the river after dinner and even bring champagne along.

The dining room at The Grill Room is elegant and beautiful and the service and food were outstanding at both restaurants.
