Dolce Vita - Bridgeport
From the Boot - Lafayette Hill

We have eaten at From the Boot several times,it has become a family favorite when in the area. Last night,we happened to be in King of Prussia and decided to try Dolce Vita, since we've seen it mentioned on the board. Big mistake!!! It was very uncomfortable being in a restaurant as the only people who weren't family members or friends coming in and out.Once we got the menus, after a prolonged wait , we noticed there were tacos on the menu, odd for an alledged Italian restaurant. The food was sub-par also. Pasta was overcooked, marinara tasteless and veal piccata was fatty and tough. The piccata sauce was thin and tasteless with what seemed to be mushy capers. The food was not inexpensive either. Perhaps the owners should change the menu to Spanish cuisine, they certainly have no skill with Italian food!! Very dissapointing!!!!

I will never understand From the Boot and the lines of people waiting to get in. It is noisy, messy, the food varies from mundane to acceptable, and the prices are so-so. Must be the portion size. I live about two minutes from there, and have eaten there only four times since it has been open. Not a fave by any stretch.

I'm so sad to hear about your experience at Dolce Vita. From the past few times I was there, I could see this coming. They expanded their menu to include mexican food, added a mexican dancing night, etc. I noticed they switched from fresh to frozen veggies in some dishes. I think the owners got desperate for business. I can say thast they can cook some great italian food, they did when they first opened, but I think they are focusing less on serving quality food and more on keeping the business afloat. I hope they get through this little hurdle because it can be such a great place.

It's in Phoenixville, but not far - Twin Bay Cafe It has great food, a little more exotic. They have a different game meat whether it's wild boar or ostrich. Everything is good.
