Sushi Wasabe

Anyone been to this sushi bar in Orange County? is it supposed to be a lot like Nozawa and Sasabune or is it widely different? also, what is the average check here per person (not including drinks)? And also, is it cheaper at lunch or dinner, or are the same foods served at both lunch and dinner? thanks.

I will forever sing the praises of this place. Never been to Nozawa, but I would say it's at least equal to Sasabune, arguably better. Check out the link to the previous thread below.

I was there for dinner last week, and the bill for two of us, with one drink each, was about $85. Never been there for lunch, so can't tell you whether it's cheaper.

I can only say that it is the best sushi in Orange County. Same meal at lunch and dinner. More patrons at lunch it seems, but same prices. About $40.00 per person. Am going today as I cannot wait another minute, or until dinner for the best fresh seafood/sushi.

Lunch yesterday was excellant, the freshest sushi in Orange County. I saw other customers ordering certain hand rolls that they favored, as opposed to letting Katsu do all the choices. My girlfriend and I, who had been there the day before, gave him a free hand and the total was a little higher, say $50.00 per person, drinking only ice tea. Some goodies, like the blue crab hand roll, I could eat a couple at a time, also the smoked eel and scallops, so I'm thinking to be a little more definitive on ordering next time.
Everything, though, was beyond excellent. An amazing lunch for a strip mall in Tustin!!!
