Went here on a Thursday night on a date...a much anticipated first date so trust me when I say that some research went into picking a restaurant We got there a little before 9pm and had to wait in the bar next door for about 30 mins. The wine selection was good and by the time we finished our wine, our seats were ready. (we even caught a celeb at the place. One of those guys from Friends...ever hear of the show...?)
When they called us, we had a choice to either share a table by the door (too cold and lots of foot traffic) or sit at the counter in front of the kitchen. We took the prime seats at the counter w/ the romantic kitchen view.
We ordered two simple apps - bruschetta and mozzarella and tomatoes. Both were very tasty and just enough to prepare the palate for our entrees. The bruschetta wasn't too strong and the mozzarella was very fresh. We had the pasta w/ bolagnese and the salmon. The pasta was cooked perfectly and had good flavor. The salmon wasn't dry and rested on a bed of greens. We probably should have gone for the veal special or breaded chicken cutlets instead - - but dinner was very good and perfectly portioned.
The vibe is laid back here and the atmosphere is charming. I read before how the service may be an issue, but we agreed that the staff was friendly and welcoming - - so I wouldn't let that sway your decision to go.
The price, including tip, was a steal in my mind for the quality of food and delightful atmosphere. A little under $100 for two apps, two entrees, and two glasses of wine w/ dinner.
Highly recommended for groups as well (expect to wait though if you go on peak time), and definitely a place to go - - especially on a date. No reservations and cash only!
A neighborhood favorite. Less crowded earlier in the night. Real winners are the Priest Stranglers and the chicken. The fresh mozzarella appetizer is small but delicious. Dishes on the specials menu are much more expensive than the regular options.
I love Supper. They usually have this wonderful lemon pasta on their menu. Make sure to try it. Good wine list too.
