Me and Mrs. Jones

kitchenkate Jan 29, 2008 06:17 AM

I wandered into Mrs. Jones last Wednesday...empty, but for the very friendly proprietors. I walked out with some ok fried chicken and some of the best ribs I have had in the Boston area. Spare ribs, trimmed to the St. Louis configuration (no tips or brisket attached). Very lean, mildly smoky, and lightly sauced. No superfluous fat at all. Four stars. I'll be back.

I went last Friday hoping for some chicken and sides but on Friday all they serve is FISH and grits and something else. ???? I sort of gave the Mrs a WTF look and she got a bit defensive, but whatever......

I'm planning to go tonight and maybe I'll try the ribs.

    How's the deep fried turkey?

They do deep fried turkey only on Sundays. And not every Sunday. Call ahead.

They also have deep-fried turkey, and smoked turkey legs (two things that can be hard to find around here).

I think you both know that it's wrong...... unless the ribs are as good as you say. What's the sauce like?
