Soho nice ambience with good food

Bernke Jan 28, 2008 07:30 PM

need rec's for sexy/ambient place with good food in Soho. not a stuffy atmosphere. Somewhere fun or romantic or trendy and type of food. somewhere dim or candle lit. exposed brick would be nice. Somewhere that makes you feel like you're in Italy or South America. Anything?

Thanks in advance

Close to Soho, you can try Allen and Delancey.

Aurora Soho would also work, but food is not as good.

Savoy may work perfectly for you

Barmarche on Spring St & Elizabeth gets my vote. They were closed for renovations but I think they re-opened. It's perfect. My husband and I went there several times when we were dating last year and its the right atmosphere you are looking for.

I just went there and it was fabulous. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants right now...

Mercer Kitchen is a great choice.

If you like seafood, Lure is fun, and the nautical atmosphere is unique.

Skip Allen & Delancey. First, it's not near SoHo; second, the food is mediocre.

I do not think the food at Mercer Kitchen and Allen and Delancey are at comparable leve. A&D is much better in food.

Cuba is in NoHo on Thompson between Bleeker and W. 3th, so not SoHo, but close and it's got everything you're looking for, including exposed brick. Good food and mojitos as well.
