L'Unita Review

6 of us went saturday night. first time for all of us. lovely room. the seating is interesting. several tables (the ones that hold 6 ppl) have these couch/bench type things that are really comfortable but for the fact that they dwarf you such that your mouth is almost level with the table. the few pillows provided help a little. apparently they're being 'fixed' over the next week or so. the other regular chairs are actually quite high.
here's what we ate:
apps-
gouda, squash, walnut, sage pizza (2 of us shared as an app)...delicious think crust (they offer whole wheat!). unbelievably rich.
ceasar salad -looked like a really good size portion
white asparagus salad
vegetable soup - very good, tasted like it came out of grandma's kitchen.
mains-
veal chop
2 steaks
sea bream with oven roasted tomatoes and fennel - fish was a little overcooked for me but i could have made a meal out of those tomatoes - they were outstanding
short ribs
pasta with shrimp and olives

sides:
mushrooms in balsamic
gorgonzola gnocchi
squash & parmesean
mashed potatoes
black carrots
rapini

desserts:
apple crumble
gelato
chocolate cake

2 coffees
2 bottles of wine ($42 each)
2 martinis ($10 each)

total for 6 of us before tip $425.
really well priced....we were stuffed!....

the consensus at the table was excellent food was had by all.
i know we will definitely be returning soon.
service was helpful & knowledgable. didn't make us of an sommellier input although we probably could have used it....didn't know much about the mostly italian wine list. what we did pick (no clue what it was) was really good.
