Mima Vinoteca - Irvington, NY

I went to Red Hat's new location this past weekend. It had the same menu, same waiters, same owners...etc. Everything was great! I drove by Red Hat's old location which is now Mima Vinoteca and it was packed! Has any Hounds tried it yet?

I've been to Mima numerous times in the past several months. Every meal has been really terrific. There is an excellent wine list, fantastic salumi, and great pasta dishes. In my opinion, what a great enoteca should be...

I think I could live on wine and salumi...

I usually stick with fish or pasta for my main course. I've never been disappointed...The only thing I ever ordered that I didnt get excited about was a veal dish. I dont know why i even ordered it, since I dont care for veal...

The NYTimes review piqued my interest today... any recent visitors concur?

Have been there twice. I agree the pasta is closest to Italy around Westchester. Prefer Thurs nights. Sat are really busy. Staff is lovely. Definitely a keeper.

We just went last week. I have to say I was impressed, which makes it the sixth or so time I've ever said that about a westchester restaurant. We had one app (duck sausage), one pasta, and the meat and cheese board with 2 meats and three cheeses. It was all very well made (or selected in the case of the board) and nicely presented. The selection of wines by the glass was extremely nice. A good variety and of reasonable quality. We didn't try any mains or dessert, this time, but will sometime soon, for sure!

Mima had a table at the Food and Wine festival last weekend in Tarrytown. They sampled a simple pasta that was, you should pardon the expression, Delish.

Also, they charge $20 for corkage if you BYO. That's waved if you buy a bottle of their wine list.

They were very nice, and seemed eager to please. Can't wait to go for dinner.

I've been here twice and absolutely loved it. The hosts are gracious & friendly and the menu is fabulous. I love that you can create your own antipasti plate based on what you like, they have a lot of wine choices, and the pastas are all homemade and unique. Even the spinach salad I had was amazing. The restaurant is also a really, really cute!!
              Definitely check it out!!

You can access the rest of the site by aiming your mouse at "Kitchen" and "Wine Bar."
