Does anyone know if there is a restaurant in the Bay Area that serves live octopus for consumption?

Thank you.

I would like to bump this thread up as I'm currently in the Bay Area and would like to know if anyone has found any place yet that serves live octopus?

I know there's a big Korean community in the area and would like to know if anyone has an IN on any restaurant that would serve it even if it's not on the official menu.

I know there's at least one Korean place in NYC that serves live octopus so there's bound to be one here as well.

Any help would be appreciated. Gotta cross this off my bucket list haha.

I think I saw that on a food network program once...don't think I could bring myself to watch it again let alone do it myself. I'll take grilled octopus any day.

If you're referring to the mini octopus that is served in sushi restaurants -- I've seen them served in LA in Korean sushi restaurants. However, this is considered a delicacy and you have to ask for it and/or be a regular. If there are any Korean-owned sushi restaurants you go to in the Bay area, you should ask the owner (typically the sushi chef) who could give you the scoop. Personally, I could never get myself to try it - especially when my cousins told me that you have to swallow quickly or else the tentacles get stuck to the roof of your mouth. Good luck!

Who would want to start an octopus for one diner?
