Where can I find a good cheesesteak sanwich in L.A.?

Can anyone out there give me a few good places in Los Angeles to try a Philly cheesesteak? There was a spot on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica called "Taste of Philly" that had the best (in my opinion), but unfortunately they are no longer in business. I haven't been able to find any places that really compare to them, and I really want one that's authentic. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Jason, much recent discussion of this very issue.
Please either use our search engine (I'd suggest entering the following "los angeles cheesesteak" and, for a second go-round, "los angeles cheese steak") or load this Los Angeles index page and use your browser's "find" command to search down the page.
One other thing...we have many thousands of posters, so you may want to consider a more distinctive nametag than "Jason"
I had posted on a couple of places recently reviewed in the LA Times. Scroll down to August 24 on this board. Earlier there had been quite an extensive CS discussion here as well. Also, if you go to www.latimes.com and then over to the Calendar section and do a cheesesteak search, that should produce some results.
Call me crazy, but the Pizza Cookery in Woodland Hills
makes an awesome Cheeseteak! On a toasted roll, lots of peppers, and onions, and for us "non-red meat eaters" they have an amazing chicken version, with all white meat chicken! Seved with some of the best fries my wife & I have every had. And a "pickle slice!"
Great place, with good service!
Topanga & Erwin, or Ventura Blvd 3 bls west of White Oak.
