Mirabelle recommendation

amykragan Jan 28, 2008 06:48 AM

Gonna get to check out Mirabelle on Friday.
What's your favorite thing on the menu that we can't miss?
There will only be 2 of us, so we don't want to over do it, but want to make sure we order the highlights of other hounds.

I went there last week. The steak with gouda was pretty good. As was the flourless chocolate cake on hazelnut crust.

Haven't ever disliked anything there, but don't have a favorite.

I've always wanted to try their Beignets, but last time it was so incredibly HOT inside the restaurant that I didn't feel like finishing dinner, let alone ordering dessert.

However, they probably saved on their electricity bill.

Try the Stuffed Veal Breat, my favorite. Also, haven't tried it, but the duck is rumored to be quite good. A year or so ago during a menu revamping they dropped the duck and there was such an outcry from regular patrons that they put it back on.

The duck/sausage gumbo is a staple and it's great!

I like their risotto, a dish I ususlly don't care for, and always save room for the flourless chocolate cake. On the early menu, which is only available Monday through Thursday (5:30 to 6:15), I like the polenta crusted salmon.

They have a lightly smoked and grilled pork chop I have a hard time staying away from. A cup of their incredibly rich duck and sausage gumbo is a great way to start.
