We love the atmosphere and the food at this restauarant- has anything opened up in the last year or so that would have a similar atmosphere. Thanks.

I wish there was but I haven't found it yet. I haven't been to Brasserie Beck however.

the closest thing might be Brasserie Beck, I agree. That being said, it's not the same type of feel. Balthazar is a bit less "posh" than Brasserie Beck and I don't know how good the brunch is at Brasserie Beck (I havent had it yet) whereas the brunch at Balthazar is spectacular. They make the best Bloody Mary I've ever had.

I'm with you. There's nothing like it, far as I've seen...

I wonder why not. It seems like such a great concept-and Batlhazar is not the ony kind of its like in NY- we went to Artisinal which had a similar feel and then antd to another little spot on 30 and Ave of Amercias that was quite a bit smaller but similar vibe. The brunch at Bath is the best.

I agree that it's a little mystifying, but nothing compares to Manhattan in many food-related ways. I just tried Artisanal a few weeks ago and it was great. Detailed review will be linked up on The Humble Gourmand on 2/4/08, if you're interested!
