21st birthday

I am looking for somewhere to direct my nanny for her 21st birthday celebration. She is looking for about $20 a person (not including alcohol). Fun ambiance and some cool factor. West LA (UCLA, Westwood, Brentwood) area.

Any suggestions.

While the budget constraint is tough, one thing to also consider would be the size of the party. A large group would be able to spread out the cost to more reasonable level, but then again, a large group would also restrict the places you go. How large will this celebration be?

And will a 21 year old be able to tell the difference between one vodka-lemon and another?

I spent my 21st birthday barhopping in Old Pas (and upon further review, haven't really stopped...)

"Cool factor, west LA, and about $20 a person" is hard to find, but possible. But you may have to send her slightly out of the area-perhaps to West Hollywood, Los Feliz/Silverlake or over the hill into the Valley.

Luky Devils is dinerish, but has good food and alchy. And then she could hit other clubs in the area.

She could get some couches at Moun of Tunis and enjoy a moroccan feast.

Really, it's the alchohol that will cost the most-especially if she wants mixed drinks. If she's into beer, that's SO MUCH EASIER!

If she would go some place that had a good happy hour, she could get small bites and drinks and save $$.

A small chainish palce might actually be best.

Pink Taco in Century City Mall? Chez Jay in Santa Monica? (Chez Jay might be lacking on the cool factor, but it strikes me as a good place for a 21st birthday party...) One of the Persian places on Westwood Blvd? $20 is a tough price point to hit.
