Dinner for 15 around Union Square?
I'm looking for two restaurants for business dinners for a group from out of town. We'll be staying at the Sir Francis Drake and are hoping for something within walking distance. Would like one fairly upscale and the other more casual. Need to be able to handle a group of about 15. Deliciousness mandatory!

Fairly upscale and on the pricey level would be either the Ritz or Campton Place. Another choice would be Myth but by March, it will be run by Ron Siegel (which should mean good things), but no one can tell yet... They have a semi-private back area that would be perfect for 15. It is more of a short cab ride, but I have walked it in less than 10 minutes from Union Square -- about 8 or 10 blocks.

I have to arrange dinners with similar parameters fairly often, and find I often end up going with suggestions a bit further afield, as the walking distance options tend to be not quite as good on the deliciousness scale, and more expensive. Sultan is definitely a good recommendation if the group likes ethnic. Saha (Middle Eastern Fusion) is also a possibility for the more casual recommendation. A third option would be a banquet in Chinatown: Louie's California Cuisine perhaps?
For your more upscale dinner, even though it isn't quite walking distance unless the group likes to walk and the weather is good, I'd consider Sens. Also a bit of a walk but good for the upscale choice would be Scott Howard or Perbacco.

When is this? A lot of places can accommodate a group with some notice, but short notice is harder. Also, were you interested in a private room for either dinner? And how casual is "more casual"? Is "ethnic" okay? Because one casual place with delicious food I'd recommend for a group is Sultan (Indian).
