Chowish places in Belfast, ME?

jane_dough Jan 26, 2008 08:28 AM

Some friends and I are going out tonight (heading to Belfast). Any recommendations for places with great cocktails, clever appetizers, and great atmosphere?

The silence is deafening. I'm sorry, I know of no place that meets your requirements. Maybe others do. Wasses is closed, so is the coop and the wrap shop. There is a pub, however. Veer south to Camden, or even north to Ellsworth(a distant 2nd to Camden).

Thanks, Improv. this is the "pub" to which I was referring. Now thanks to pour thread, we're heading there next Sat. night to see the Tough Cats. I've known the percussionist since he was born! Christ do I sound old.

Well, we didn't make it to Belfast...no one wanted to take a chance to find nothing worth the drive (40 minutes or so). However, we will try Three Tides in the near future. Thanks for the suggestion.

Decent food, good atmosphere, great water views: Papa J's and the Lobster Bar. I always passed this place by until friends recommended it for the pizza (can't remember exactly which one, but it had feta). Far more than pizza on the menu, but for casual and cozy, it's a good choice. It's just north of the Belfast bridge, on the right.
