  1. I sure hope you get some responses to this post that are knowledgeable because I love steak fries.

    1. Sorry it's not on the Westside, but El Paso BBQ in Tarzana has exceptionally good ones. Also in Tarzana is Vino Tapas and Wine Room. They serve mini burger sliders with excellent steak fries.

      1. Lucques, at the bar -- I think it's after 9:30 pm.

        1. Do you mean steak frites (as in a steak accompanied by French style fries) or do you mean the thick cut style of french fries sometimes served in U.S. steak houses? I think djdebs assumed you meant the former, and Lucques does indeed produce a wicked good steak frites. If you want thick cut steak house style fries, the best I've had in LA or anywhere were at Campanile.

Agree that Barney's fries are great.

            2. Tom Bergins has steak fries. Underrated food spot, in my opinion.

              1. Fatburger on Vermont in Los Feliz has thick cut fries ("fat fries") for very cheap. I think there is a Fatburger in Westwood Village near UCLA.

                1. The Hamlet, as they're calling themselves now, has been a reliable source for these, at least at the two that I visit periodically (in Pasadena and on Sunset). While their menu lists whatever style is offered with which dish, they will happily bring you any kind you want, so I always get the big planks when I order the fish & chips, plus extra tartar sauce for dipping. Very nice.
