Best Chicken Pot Pie in Monmouth Cty?

Chicken Pot Pie is one of my favorite comfort foods right after macoroni and cheese, but finding a great one is very hard. I want a real pie crust - crust and not phyllo dough crust. And don't skimp on the veggies or chicken either. Does a place exist?

A fantastic chicken pot pie can be had at the new Martin Bradley's Table in Little Silver..a stone's throw from Rt 35...near Sickles and Ray's Seafood. They are open for lunch til 3, even on Saturday's...nice white tablecloths and clean, chef Martin is fantastic and works alongside the kitchen staff...waitress is sort of grumpy, but don't let that bother you...also BYOB for more fun...enjoy!

Let me preface this by saying I haven't tried it, but Costco has what looks to be beautiful chicken pot pies, ready to bake. They are in a very large pie cruse with lattice top. About $3 or so a pound. The ones I saw yesterday were around $18, so it is family size.
If you are looking for a restaurant, Rams Head in Absecon serves an excellent chicken pot pie (my mothers favorite). But, it is a fancy and fairly expensive restaurant; more of a special occasion place.

I just remembered: Sickles Market in Little Silver has pot pies prepared for you to take home and heat up. They're delicious. Real pie crust.

Sickles Market definitely has a great Chicken Pot Pie and Shephard Pies. I noticed they included it in this year's winter commercial. They posted the commercial on YouTube if you want to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xORpF3...

Hopefully, when Charley's Ocean Grill in Long Branch reopens (March as of now) the chicken pot pie will remain on their Comfort menu. They use a traditional pie crust. Lots chicken chunks. I would eat half at the restaurant and reheat the other half for dinner the next day.

            The Village Corner Café
            102 Kings Highway
            Middletown.

Just around the corner from Middletown train station,I was in here some time ago and though I didn't buy one (They looked too big !) they had some beautiful homemade looking pot pies.If my memory serves me right ,they may have had some shepherds pies as well.I would certainly check them out for take away. They have an extensive and interesting Italian catering menu also.Failing that ,someone told me the Molly Pitcher in Red Bank was good for a pot pie?
