Glenn's Family Restaurant - Red Deer

I've been on these boards lurking and commenting for a while but I've never seen anyone mention Glenn's restaurant in Red Deer. I do a ton of traveling in Alberta and whenever I go thru Red Deer I always stop at Glenn's and I always have a good meal. I was there this morning and it donned on me that I've never mentioned it here, so I need to give old Glenn's a shout-out.
Glenn's is an older restaurant, really owned by Glenn. And he can always be found clearing a table or helping a customer. It's often referred to as Glenn's tea house because of his famous tea pot sign. He also sells hundreds of varieties of tea inside (greatest among them is the creamy earl grey).
His food is special. Everything on the menu is good old-fashioned comfort food and the breakfasts are all great. My eggs are always done to prefection and everything is hot and tasty when it arrives.
The service puts the rest of Alberta to shame, he sends his staff out for special training and ensures they're treated with respect and thus they have stuck with him. You'll never get a waitress who doesn't know her stuff. Very often you'll have a waitress who isn't yours stop by and pour you coffee or refill your pop. Not because it's their table but because they work as a team to take care of the customer.
Anyways, if you're travelling thru Red Deer as most Albertan's will do at some point, avoid the Wendy's or McDonalds and stop in for 30 minutes and enjoy a real meal at Glenn's. At times it can be packed, as all the locals come here but it's well worth it.
As a kid, we would always stop by Glenn's for chicken fingers - my best friend insisted they were the best in the province! It's been years, but they are still good memories. Thanks for the refresher :)
Glenn's is well worth a visit on Gasoline Alley in Red Deer.
Dean in Canada (I mean Red Deer)
Thanks for the review! I've always wondered about Glenn's. It's on the list for our next stop thru Red Deer :)
