Must try, fun, chic, modern restaurant in Nassau?

I wanted to go out for a great dinner for my friend's 40th birthday. What's a really great, modern restaurant to try? Awesome drinks & food, atmosphere, etc. It could be pricey--but worth it. How is Rein (in the Garden City Hotel)? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Rein is nice, good food.

I personally really like Novita, on Franklin. Great design, excellent food, 100 wines by the glass. Waterzooi next door is also great, but Novita may fit the bill a bit more. Toku and Besito are also excellent selections.

In Huntington, I think Honu and Prime would also fit the bill.

Well, if you are willing to travel to Suffolk, I love Honu Kitchen in Huntington. Great, fun tapas style menu and a trendy atmosphere. I don't know if you have ever been there.
Toku in the Americana Manhasset is really great also. It has a Manhattan-ish vibe and everything I ordered was delicious!

Taste in Garden City may be what you're looking for. It's low-key but stylish, and the food is modern without being wacko. Lots of posts about it on this board.
