Need suggestions for dining out tonight

  • 8

BF and I are up to trying something new tonight. Looking for suggestions in the west end (West of Yonge including Ronces). As well would be interested in any suggestions for Bloor or Harbord as I used to live in the area but I'm sure alot has changed

It's my turn to come up with the restaurant, and for the life of me I can't think of anything. Looking for something casual/intimate.

I know this is vague so here are some places we love....

Julies
La Pallete
Musa
One of a Kind

Anyone with ideas? I want to be a food 'hero' tonight :)

  1. Along Harbord, west of Spadina are several great options: Messis, 93 Harbord, Boulevard Cafe, Dessert Trends Bistro. You can't go wrong with any of them.

I second the Boulevard. Awesome grilled chicken salad.

    2. - The Universal Grill is fun - good food, nice vibe, friendly service, slightly romantic in that boho way. It's probably at your geographical edge, but I still think it's a great spot.

      - Is the Roxton still any good?
      - I also find Messis very consistent - really deserves more talk (although it isn't very hip, if you care).
      - The Swan is always a favourite (and comfort food suits on the cold nigh)

Thank you all :) For a while no posts...I think everyone starts thinking about food after 2:30 :)

All suggestions are places I haven't tried, as well Rabbit - I think you nailed the type of dining exp. I'm looking for tonight. SO and I are so boho romantic!

I second Tati (in the old Kensington Kitchen space). Have the lemon tart for dessert-Laurent makes the best one in town.

      2. The new Tati Bistro on Harbord is very hot right now, but if you can get a reservation it will be a pretty smooth move. Some friends I trust loved it.

Tati sounds amazing! It might be too late to get a reservation now, but I'm going to for sure check it out. Thank you for the review :)

Has anyone ever tried River Restaurant in Ronces? The reason I ask is that I read on another site that Tuesday's they offer free corkage :) It's great, but if the food isn't good there's no point :)
