New Thai Food in San Diego

lovesfood11 Jan 24, 2008 08:47 PM

I don't think theres been a current post about the most consistent/ best thai food in san diego. My go to place is still Rama, Rama has the best thai food I have ever had in san diego. I haven't been able to find a restaurant that makes a better yellow curry or phad thai. But the problem with Rama is that most of their dishes are around 15 or 20 dollars and I think thats too much for thai food. If anyone has found a better thai place then Rama or around the same for a better price give me your suggestions.

I eat at Siamese Basil in Encinitas.

It is not the best Thai food I have ever had, but it is good, consistent, they ask what spice level you would like, and it is affordable.

Well, so far that is my favorite Thai place in SD

But we have lived here less than a year.

My fiance and I use to try a different thai place each weekend when we lived in SD. I too loved Rama but was pricey. Our next favs were Celadon, which is owned by the same people as Rama, and in Hillcrest. We also loved La Thai Basil, in Bird Rock/La Jolla just north of PB. The staff was wonderful, decor is great and food consistent. hope that helps :)

Thanks that does help. I've also tryed Celadon and its pretty close to Rama but not as good. Also the people at Rama told us the prices at Celadon were cheaper but when we went there they weren't.
