Mohsen is very close to there and it might just be the best Iranian in London.

An Iranian colleague really rates Alounak, near Kensington Olympia.

We went for the 1st time to Mohsen (having gone regularly to Alounak and, even more often, to Patogh).

          Our impressions:
          - Chicken was superior at Moshen. Best (most flavorful and moist) chicken we've ever had. How do they achieve that? We're frankly curious.
          - For lamb skewers (either fillet or minced), on the other hand, we still prefer Patogh. Then we'd rank Mohsen. Then (a very close third) Alounak.
          - We especially liked an aubergine/mint/walnut appetizer at Mohsen.
          - We also especially liked the bread at Mohsen.

If anyone knows of other Mohsen style (read unpretentious and affordable, and yet great chow) places serving any type of food (we're covered when it comes to Iranian!) in Bayswater/Paddington/Kensington/Notting Hill/etc area, do let us know!

Will certainly do. Thanks for the tip. (We in fact almost ordered it, as we went yesterday).

I think Yas in Kensington Olympia is really good. They have delicious bread that comes straight out of a brick oven to the table plus a variety of traditional Persian dips and stews. It's also open unit 5am! Very chilled and relaxing place to go with friends.
