Comfort food in Monmouth County

Okay, looks like winter has finally arrived. Time for comfort food. Where is your "go to" spot and what is their specialty? I'll start. Definatley the five cheese macaroni and cheese at either of the McLoone's restaurants.........yummy. Also their meatloaf as well as the meatloaf at Salt Creek Grill. Our favortie chicken pot pie place is no longer around. Any other suggestions?

Try the meatloaf at the salt water beach cafe in asbury park or their lobster macaroni and cheese.....unbelievable!!!! For another great piece of comfort food head to the Gladstone Tavern in Gladstone NJ.

A #1 from Mike's subs in Keyport. You know how people feel about family recipes, with an example being Mom's 'gravy' on Sunday's, well Mike's subs are kind of like that. For years they were the only subs around, and I've been eating them for 40 years - and it shows!!! lol!

This is a topic near and dear to my heart.

        The Flakey Tart, Atlantic Highlands
Best ever macaroni and cheese. Very nice chicken salad. All the pastries and cookies are stellar.

        Jim's Burger Haven, Hazlet
Double bacon burger, without cheese, cooked by Nick the owner.

        Drew's Bayshore Bistro, Keyport
        BBQ pork strudel.
