Banquet facilities for 40 in Taipei

disparatehousewife Jan 24, 2008 11:28 AM

I am planning a 70th birthday bash for my mother in Taipei with around 40 to 50 guests. My problem is I live in Dublin, Ireland and have not lived in Taiwan for more than 10 years -- I am completely out of touch with the scene there.

My mom is elegant and does not want anything too traditional, nor anything too pretentious. It has to be fancy enough to give "face," but not so much that it is ostentatious. Anyone have suggestions? I have been checking hotels, mainly, but would love to "find" a great new restaurant with excellent food.

Try A Cut Steakhouse at the Ambassador Hotel. Just opened up last Nov. Good steak and great wine list.
