What happened to my Firehouse sub?
Yesterday I ran out of my office and grabbed a sub at Firehouse, just down the road. It's an okay chain down here in Charlotte. Fast, relatively cheap, extremely convenient. I got a large Italian sub with everything but onions and mayo. It was very good but absolutey enormous so I only ate half and put the other half in the fridge. Today I went to get the other half and it tastes as if someone put sugar or artificial sweetener on it. It's incredibly sweet. How did that happen? It seems like it's the bread.
My husband loves Firehouse but it don't care for them so much. I'd rather get a sub from the Publix grocery deli in the same shopping center. Their ham is honey ham and is much sweeter than what I'm used to from the deli counter and I just don't care for it. Their mayo also seems to be a bit sweet - perhaps they use that god awful miracle whip stuff?
