"People Reading Me"
On the "people reading me" "people I'm reading" part of someone's page, you used to be able to see the person's name when you had your mouse on that person. It seems to be covered now, where you can see part of the people on the very end (the far right) but it is overlapped by the main page... if that makes sense.

It's showing up on the bottom layer, overwritten by everything else.
Been doing this for awhile now.

I have a screen shot of the behavior. It's quite annoying. Is this are your fixing list, Engineering? Thanks.

peter, thanks for weighing in. your photo is neat; how does one do a "screen shot"? is it an internal function with your computer, or did you use your digital? btw, your photos of the food in the "avocado shakes" thread are gorgeous! what camera are you using? (you are obviously skilled in composition....)

Hey, thanks. I would never consider myself a photographer -- I just like to take pictures. I have a Lumix DMC-FZ7 super zoom, nice camera for me.
As for the screenshot, I have an Apple, so to do a screenshot, you use Command-Shift-3 for the entire screen or Command-Shift-4 for a piece of the screen. In Windows you can get the entire screen by using Ctrl-PrintScreen, but there's no way to get a piece of the screen without cropping it or using a third party utility such as SnagIt, which is a very nice tool.

I can't even find the 'people reading me' section.... but maybe nobody is :-D, if that's the explanation ----

If someone has added you to their "reading" list, it will show up under your "my CHOW" or profile page.

Oh Great and Mighty Chowhound Engineering Team: can you please fix this? It been a problem not only for "People Reading Me," but for "People I'm Reading." thus making navigation more difficult. (I admit to rarely bothering to "follow" a post or person because the ubiquitous avatar tells me nothing when I scroll over it.
Been going on for a l-o-o-o-ng time. Can we expect a fix, or will we all give up with the reading lists and such?

I just came here to finally post about the problem and found this thread. Already a week and the Team hasn't even responded.

This is a long term problem, and I've replied in many previous threads on the subject. I have no updates to offer at this time.

Jacquilynne;
You alway been a friendly and responsive person on Chowhound, and I thank you for that. Difficult job, with all of us pecking at you :-)
Still, this is an ongoing issue that leads many to dislike the Features mentioned. I hope this will resolve before too long.
Thanks,
Cay

I hope so, too. I'd like to have more info to offer you on this stuff, but I just don't.

Why did it work properly at one time and now it doesn't?

I'm not sure what you mean? It's a bug in the software that runs the site. There are constant changes made to a site like this that all interact with each other. Presumably, some change along the line caused that function to break.
