Not a traditional place for corned beef, but we were at Metric, the new restaurant on Cannon Street in Bridgeport, and my (picky) husband had a reuben. Coleslaw on the sandwich. The meat was lean, the sandwich full enough but not ridiculously big and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's a charming restaurant -- we'll go back and try other foods. (somewhere else on this board someone recommended the pizza) -

Bad news my friend.
There is no corn beef in stamford or FFD county that would receive the jfood "best" rating. "Almost passable" is about as close as you can get and not worth the effort.
The names you will hear are:
- Rye Ridge - STM/Fairfield
- Golds - W'port
- Oscars - W'port
- Katzenberg's - G'wich (is it still there? keeps moving on jfood)Kippered Salmon - Not sure if this place carries it but worth a call.

They have fantastic smoked salmons and jfood loves their pickled herring in cream sauce with onions. La Tulipe is down the street is you want to check that out. Jfood has not been there yet but the cakes look great and getting some good press here.
BTW - if you do need to place Russian and cole slaw on a corn beef sandwich you need to add turkey for a 3-decker. And then you start getting into NJ Sloppy Joe-land and that's a whole 'nother level of greatness. Corn beef deserves a solo performance on rye with mustard, cole slaw goes on the side. :-)).
