Moules & Beer spots in LA?

Where can I find a great spot that specializes in mussels prepared a variety of ways and also has a good selection of (oh, lets say Belgian) beer? I went to an amazing Belgian place in NYC that I'm basically trying to recreate in LA. Any suggestions?

We don't have anyplace like that with a real Belgian focus, but you will find a decent recreation at plenty of French places like Comme Ca, Cafe des Artistes, Cafe Stella, maybe Figaro Bistro, etc.

I second Chowpatty's suggestions, and I'd add Mimosa to the French list -- they offer a few preparations for their moules. I also just had some great mussels at Village Idiot. I'm not sure what they have in the way of Belgian beers, but I'm guessing they have a few.

Had good Moules et frites with a light Chamay Ale at Kendall's a while back - pretty good. What about La Frite? I think I remember they had decent Moules et Frites...sounds good...now I want some, too!

The moules et frites are are fantastic. I would have mentioned it right away in response to this thread, but I don't know anything about the beer selection. It does have a full bar.

It's true, nothing like that in L.A., to my knowledge. There is a good place down in Laguna Beach though, if you want to take the ride.

I had some of the best mussels of my life at Father's Office over the weekend!

Vint's has a decent moules frites dinner. I don't know about their beer selection, but they do have wine. This is in Long Beach.

Certainly not served in a variety of ways, but Bowery serves moules frites as well as Belgian beers (and certainly has a distinct NYC feel to the place).

If you really like to chowdown, then your best option might be the all-you-can-eat Wednesday special at Soliel in Westwood (Belgian Beer ?):
